Lock and unlock a page

Page locking is manual in Karl

You are able to lock pages, or prevent others from editing them, in Karl.

  1. Find the lock/unlock option in the right menu

2. Click Lock to "lock out" other SF.gov editors. Only you can edit the page while the lock is in place.

  1. To unlock, click the Lock button again. It should appear unchecked. Other SF.gov editors can now edit the page.

Change from Drupal: pages used to lock automatically

In Drupal, a user who opened a page to edit would lock that page to them. It would be unavailable for other users to edit unless:

  • The editor with the page open unlocked or saved the page

  • Another editor manually broke the lock on the page

This does not happen in Karl.
