PDFs and other documents
If at all possible, publish the content from a PDF on an Info or Report page.
Avoid PDFs if you can
We recommend avoiding PDFs on SF.gov.
They usually can't be read by screen readers, which many people with disabilities use to read text online.
They are not accessible on phones (55% of our site visitors). People have to zoom in to read them.
Publish PDF content on a page
Rather than uploading a PDF, we recommend publishing the content from your PDF on an SF.gov page. You can copy and paste the text from your PDF into any SF.gov page.
Publish PDFs as Report pages
Report pages are ideal for publishing PDF content. They have a field to attach the PDF to the page as well. This way, you can have both on one page:
